JOSE MARCOS CREGO TAMAYO, Pianist. Havana, Cuba July 12, 1978. Started his initial music studies in the Conservatory of Music Manuel Saumell, in his native city when he was five years old. Then he attended and graduated from High school at Amadeo Roldán Music School. From childhood he followed in his fathers footsteps, the great trumpet player Jose Miguel Crego ”El Greco,” playing piano and singing in a few records. That paved the way and gave him the inspiration for him to participate in various musical groups with his classmates. After graduation his career took off and performed with many famous musicians including, but not limited to; “Los Dan,” ” Talismán,” “ICRT Orchestra,” ”Top Secret” along side his father, Klimax, Gardi and his band, The Arango Brothers, Afrocuban All Stars, playing in a lot of jazz festivals like Pop Kom, Curaçao Heineken Jazz Festival, Jazz Plaza,Festival Benny More, Fiesta del Tambor, Blue Festival, Jazz Fandango Festival, Pori Jazz Festival. At 21 he produced his first album named “Mi Musica,” this being start of his career as a musical producer. He also collaborated as a pianist and keyboard player in various albums like; “Top Secret” volm.1, Klimax “Oye como va,” Piloto & Friends, Nadie se parece a ti, “Autorretrato” Francisco Céspedes, “Alafia” Hermanos Arango, “Homenaje a los grandes del son” Hector Valentin, and many more.
Tom Williams

Electric Stand-Up Bass
With a musical history that is vast and varied, Tom has appeared with jazz legends Dizzy Gillespie, Louie Bellson, Slide Hampton, Diane Schurr, Claudio Roditi, Arturo Sandoval, and James Moody.  Most recently, he played with salsa legends, Frankie Vasquez and Tito Allen. Adding to his credits are performances at many of the world’s most prestigious jazz festivals, including the Montreux, Newport, and Toronto festivals.  Tom’s recording career spans over twenty years, performing on over twenty albums.  As well as being a prolific composer, he has conducted clinics and seminars for many of the nation’s leading high schools, colleges, and universities as well as for the International Association of Jazz Educators conferences. He participated in the Stanford Jazz Workshop in 2001 and 2002, and in February of 2007, he was invited to give a clinic on Latin jazz bass styles at Arizona State University.   Additionally, Tom has taught bass and jazz ensembles at Towson, George Washington, and Shepherd Universities.


Steven Von Wald

Steven Von Wald Named “One to Watch” in the Phoenix Metro area by Downbeat Magazine, a South Dakota native, first decided to pursue music seriously in high school,after being named first chair clarinet in his All-State Band, and lead alto saxophonein the All-State Jazz Band. He was awarded a scholarship at the University of North Texas in Denton, where he completed a Bachelor of Music Cum Laude in Jazz Studies and a Master of Music performance in all woodwinds. In 1997 Steven served as a sabbatical replacement and Interim Director of Jazz Studies at Arizona State Universitywhere he was a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in saxophone performance. His credits include being named as a finalist in the classical division of the North American Saxophone Alliance’s annual artist competition, finalist at the annual Evansville, In. International Jazz Saxophone Competition, membership in the U.N.T. 2 O’clock LabBand (named top collegiate big-band by Downbeat magazine 5 years running), a 15 day tour of Sweden and Denmark with the U.N.T Wind Ensemble, has served as a performer on the staff of DisneyWorld Florida, and on the faculty of Mt. Rushmore National Music Camp. In addition to a televised performance on Good Morning Arizona and an appearance at the 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards, he has performedwith such celebrities as Doc Severinson, The Temptations, Steve Allen, Maynard Ferguson, Ed Shaughnessy, Jack Jones, Dave Brubeck, Della Resse, John Davidson,Rita Moreno, Rosemary Clooney, Billy Taylor, Mitzy Gaynor, and has opened for performers Michael Buble, Lyle Lovitt, and REO Speedwagon. After a four year stint as a computer programmer, Steven is back to being a full time musician for good. Hecurrently serves as a General Music Instructor for the Cartwright School District and freelances with numerous Phoenix talent agency bands.
